Speed test guide

What does the TsGym internet speed test measure?

The TsGym internet speed test is designed to check the real-world quality of your connection. It measures download speed, upload speed, latency or ping, latency variation or jitter, and general network information directly in your browser. No application or extension is required, and the test works with fixed broadband, mobile data, fiber, ADSL, VDSL and wireless connections.

DOWNLOAD

What is download speed?

Download speed describes how quickly data travels from the internet to your device. Video streaming, file downloads, web browsing and game updates depend heavily on download performance. A higher Mbps value generally means content can be received faster.

UPLOAD

What is upload speed?

Upload speed measures how quickly your device can send data to the internet. Video calls, live streaming, file uploads, cloud backups and sharing large files require stable upload capacity.

PING / JITTER

What do ping and jitter mean?

Ping measures the round-trip time of a data packet to the test server in milliseconds. Jitter shows how much that latency changes. For online gaming, TeamSpeak, voice calls and video meetings, low and stable ping can matter more than a very high headline speed.

ACCURACY

Why do speed test results vary?

Results can change because of server distance, network congestion, Wi-Fi quality, VPN use, simultaneous downloads, modem performance and device limitations. For a better assessment, test several times at different hours and use Ethernet or stay close to the router.

Before starting the test

  1. Pause downloads, uploads, updates and streaming on devices using the same connection.
  2. Temporarily disable VPNs, proxies and traffic-routing tools when possible.
  3. Stay close to the router for Wi-Fi tests, or use Ethernet for a more consistent result.
  4. Run the test two or three times and compare the average values.
  5. Repeat the test during busy and quiet hours to compare service quality.

How should you interpret the result?

Online gaming and TeamSpeak

Low ping and stable jitter are especially important for games and voice communication. High variation can cause lag, delayed audio and connection interruptions.

Video streaming and downloads

Good download performance helps videos start faster, reduces buffering and speeds up file transfers. 4K streaming usually requires a faster and more stable connection.

Video calls and uploads

Online meetings, file sharing and live streaming depend on upload speed and stable jitter. Weak upload performance can reduce audio and video quality.

Website and server management

Website owners and network administrators can use the result to check internet path quality, connection latency and differences between providers.

About TsGym network tools

TsGym provides practical network tools for Persian-speaking and international users. The goal is to present technical information quickly and clearly, without software installation, through a responsive interface for mobile and desktop. Speed test results depend on current network conditions and are not a guaranteed service rate.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about internet speed testing

Quick answers about download, upload, ping, jitter and test accuracy.

What does an internet speed test measure?

This tool measures download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter and general connection details such as public IP, ISP, ASN and approximate network location.

What is a good internet speed?

The right speed depends on your activities and the number of users. Light browsing needs less capacity, while high-quality video, large downloads, gaming, live streaming and multiple simultaneous users need a faster and more stable connection.

Why is my test result lower than my internet plan?

Advertised plan speed and usable real-world speed can differ. Wi-Fi quality, congestion, server distance, VPN use, simultaneous traffic and device limitations may reduce the measured result.

Why are low ping and jitter important?

Low ping means the network responds more quickly, while low jitter means latency is more stable. Both are important for online gaming, voice chat, TeamSpeak and video conferencing.

How can I get a more accurate speed test result?

Pause active downloads and VPN connections, move closer to the router or use Ethernet, and repeat the test several times at different hours.

Does this speed test work on mobile devices?

Yes. The page is optimized for mobile and desktop browsers, so you can test mobile data or Wi-Fi without installing an application.
